Are you committed to contributing and participating in an emerging and thriving leatherdyke revival culture in London?
If the answer is yes - maybe you should become a member of LLD!
The London Leatherdykes is, at the heart of it, a members' club. LLD is made up of, run by, and constituted by our members. They're crucial to how we operate. However, we are also not designed to be exclusive - all our socials are open to all leatherdykes. You don’t need to be a member to attend them. Our regular cruising parties are also open to everyone, as long as you’ve been vetted.
So, what does it mean to be a member? Becoming a member of LLD means you want to meaningfully contribute to the running of the club, and are committed to building leatherdyke culture in London.
We therefore expect that if you become a member, you actively want to be contributing to this. It’s ok to become a member if you don’t have a lot to give right now, but we expect our members to be enthusiastic about doing this at some point. If that’s not possible for you right now, that’s totally fine. You can still come to events and be a part of the leatherdyke community in London.
We want our members to feel excited and empowered to contribute, not scared they’re not doing enough - but ultimately, we’re a grassroots volunteer run group, so we need people to show up.

What do we expect from members?
Being a member isn’t a status symbol or popularity contest, it’s a commitment to co-creating the club. It means you can shape the community, attend the AGM, and be a real part of building leatherdyke culture in London. At the very least, we hope our members will turn up to our monthly members meetings, which take place in East London and online just before our monthly socials. This is where we discuss how the club runs, what we want to do, and how we’re going to make it happen.
If you have no interest in coming to a meeting like this ever, we’d suggest not becoming a member. It’s ok not to attend them all, everyone leads a busy life, but by being a member, you’re saying you at least intend to come from time to time. If you are not interested in becoming a member you’re not missing out on anything beyond our AGM and monthly meetings - you can still come to socials, parties and more!
Becoming a member
Drop us an email expressing your interest and we’ll send you the Membership form. To become a member, we ask that you are referred by two current members, and have attended a least one event in the last six months. We run regular socials, so if you haven't been able to meet anyone yet, do come along to one of those first.
I’m vetted for your play party, isn’t that the same?
Vetting for our play parties, along with holding regular socials has helped us cultivate a community of leatherdykes with many shared values and experiences. However we are aware that many vetted attendees of our parties and socials just want to enjoy our spaces without participating further and that's okay!
Being vetted for a party doesn’t mean you’re a member - it just means you can come to our play parties. Being a member means you’re keen to be more involved in what we’re doing, beyond just attending events.
